The community of Stayton, Oregon, rests along the North Santiam River in the Willamette Valley. The Trust for Public Land and the City worked together to preserve a key 51-acre property along the river in 2004. Bordered by the North Santiam River and Reid Canal, the property is within walking distance of downtown Stayton and provides citizens with their first public access to the river. The protected property also connects to existing parklands and preserves habitat for threatened and endangered fish and wildlife.
