The serenity of this pristine mountain lake captured the attention of Charles Lindbergh after his famous solo trans-Atlantic flight of 1927. Just 60 miles from Missoula to the south and Glacier National Park to the north, Lindbergh Lake offers visitors awe-inspiring views of the Mission and Swan Mountain Ranges. It's also a popular destination for day hikes, camping, boating, and cross-country skiing, and provides one of the last remaining areas of sanctuary for the grizzly bear and other threatened species. TPL helped add more than 2,542 acres around the lake to Flathead National Forest, safeguarding more than two-thirds of its shoreline.

Lindbergh Lake is on the south end of Swan Valley and is accessed by turning west on Lindbergh Lake Road (gravel road, number 79) There is a primitive, steep boat launch and a small campground.
