Ice House Park

Nestled between the Gallagator Trail and Bozeman Creek, this peaceful, lush pocket park known as Ice House Park acts as a natural buffer for the popular trail, which is enjoyed by more than 50,000 visitors each year. Informal trails, created by years of unfettered use by the general public, wind through the site. A mature stand of cottonwoods and dense willow thickets provide refuge for many birds and wildlife as well as fort-building children. And the land connects the trail to Bogert Park—one of Bozeman's most popular recreation areas.

Working with the City of Bozeman, TPL and the Gallatin Valley Land Trust matched Gallatin County open space funds with a private fundraising effort to save this beloved open space in 2008. A memorial bench and interpretive signage highlight the land's eclectic history such as ice production, flour milling, and the importance of the Gallagator Railway in Bozeman's early days.
