The iconic Gateway Arch in St. Louis signifies a passage to the West and the meeting of the nation's two largest rivers. It also stands at the head of the Confluence Greenway, a 40-mile riverside park being developed with help from The Trust for Public Land. TPL is working to connect green space and trails throughout the St. Louis metro area: The Iron Horse Rail Corridor will transform an abandoned elevated railway into a multi-use pathway joining the city's densely populated northern neighborhoods to downtown parks.
