East Rush Lake Wildlife and Aquatic Management Area

In 2006, TPL helped conserve 670-acres in rapidly growing Chisago County. This site includes extensive mixed hardwood wetlands, three miles of undeveloped lakefront on Rush Lake, and the headwaters of Rush Creek, a tributary of the scenic St. Croix River. As a Wildlife and Aquatic Management Area, this protected property will provide excellent opportunities for duck, turkey, grouse, and deer hunting within an hour's drive of the Twin Cities, while further protecting water quality and other wildlife.

Funding for this project was provided by the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund as recommended by the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR).
