In partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, The Trust for Public Land has worked to protect Hobart Marsh near the Lake Michigan shoreline. Native prairie plantings and habitat restoration will help to return this portion of wetland habitat—nearly 500 acres—to its pre-settlement condition. In the southern portion of the state, TPL has permanently protected inholdings to add more than 1,000 acres to Hoosier National Forest.
