Adams and Sangamon Park, Chicago
Credit: Ron Gordon
The West Loop neighborhood of Chicago has been identified by the City as lacking in parks and open space. In 2007, TPL acquired a property and held it until it could become part of this new 2.6-acre neighborhood park—unusually large for a park in a densely settled residential neighborhood. The recently opened park has almost instantly become a community meeting place. It includes a fountain plaza, children's playground, large lawn, and enclosed dog park.
