Idaho

The rugged Northern Rockies that run through Idaho encompass both unspoiled wild lands that contain virtually all the native plant and animal species that were here at the time of the Lewis & Clark Expedition, and the working farms, ranches and forests that epitomize the American West.
Vast expanses of public wild lands provide habitat for wildlife populations found nowhere else, including grizzly bear, gray wolf, woodland caribou, wolverine, and migratory salmon and trout. Running through these public lands are low-elevation private properties, mostly working farms and ranches. For generations, people have worked these lands, fished the streams, and raised their families to cherish their beautiful surroundings and rural way of life.
The Trust for Public Land's goal in Idaho, and across the Northern Rockies is build on a strong history of success around the state to advance globally significant landscape-scale conservation that embraces and sustains healthy communities, protecting the land where we love to live, work and play.
