Delaware

Each year, millions of migratory birds stop to feed and shelter in the Delaware Bay estuary. To protect this critical wetland habitat—a key stopover on the Atlantic Flyway—The Trust for Public Land has helped to add more than 200 acres to Prime Hook National Wildlife Reserve. The reserve's varied landscape attracts snow geese, bald eagles, and American bittern—along with human visitors seeking world-class birding opportunities. Other projects include Bethany Beach Town Park and ongoing efforts to protect fragile wetlands along the state's coast.
