Wet Mountain Valley

Located in south-central Colorado, Wet Mountain Valley is one of the state’s last remaining mountain ranching communities. Since 2000, TPL has spearheaded an ambitious and collaborative effort to preserve the Valley's beauty and way of life.

Working with the local ranchers and a variety of public and private partners TPL has been able to protect more than 10,000 acres of this classic western landscape with conservation easements. Our work has allowed these ranches to remain intact, ensuring that today’s ranching families can continue to earn a living on the land—and so can their grandkids.
