The proposed Triple Creek Greenway Corridor would add 14 miles of interconnected open space and trails between the existing Sand Creek Regional Greenway and the thousands of acres of public land surrounding the Aurora Reservoir. When completed, the route would allow pedestrians, bicyclists, and equestrians 27 miles of uninterrupted travel between the reservoir to where the South Platte River runs through Denver.

In December 2012, The Trust for Public Land purchased two properties key to the success of the planned greenway. At the existing junction of the Sand Creek Regional Greenway and the High Line Canal Trail, we protected 8.5 acres ideally positioned for use as a trailhead. And at the Star K Ranch Natural Area in Aurora, we added 34 acres to create a buffer against encroaching development, expand existing trails, and offer new opportunities for recreation and interpretive programs at the adjacent Morrison Nature Center.

The Trust for Public Land continues to work with our partners—including the City of Aurora—on opportunities to advance the greenway's progress.
