Parks mean green—in more ways than one!

Every week, thousands of people are drawn to paths and parks throughout Denver to bike, stroll, picnic, or bask in the sun with their families. And in these difficult economic times, more and more people are visiting and using these precious public spaces.

With that in mind—and with support from Kaiser Permanente, The Greenway Foundation, The Park People, and the City of Denver—The Trust for Public Land set out to determine whether Denver's park system delivers economic benefits to the city.

The findings are impressive. Denver's parks save the city and its residents hundreds of millions of dollars every year, generate significant municipal revenue, and increase residents' collective wealth. That's the good news: the challenge is that there aren't enough new parks for the city's growing population. Download the report:
