The iconic rock face of the Sierra Buttes. A windswept coastal bluff overlooking the Pacific. Thousands of acres of working forest. The Trust for Public Land's work in Northern California spans a range of critical wildlife habitat-and has earned us The Wildlife Society's Conservationist of the Year Award for the Western Section.
The award recognizes our work on projects including:
- Sierra Buttes, Sierra County
- Yuba Highlands, Yuba County
- Point Arena Ranch, Mendocino County
- Liberty Island, Solano County
We work to protect high-priority landscapes where conservation benefits wildlife and people alike. Northern California projects are safeguarding trail access and drinking water supplies-even as they conserve habitat species as diverse as bald eagles, native trout, and endangered salamanders.
