Bay Area Natural Lands

The Bay Area encompasses both world-famous natural landscapes and rich farmland. These treasured places aren't just scenic, they are irreplaceable natural resources that filter clean water, grow food to be enjoyed locally and all over the country, and sustain native wildlife and plants. For decades, The Trust for Public Land has saved and preserved Bay Area natural lands from the coastline to the mountains, and the pace of work is as intense now as it ever was. To safeguard the lands critical to the health of people, water, climate and natural systems we are focusing on:
- Conserving coastal wetlands important for water filtration, absorbing storm and sea level surges, and habitat for fish, birds and wildlife.
- Protecting unspoiled watersheds and natural habitat areas
- Helping family farmers and ranchers keep their land in production, and safe from development.
