Cypress Abbey Ranch

Located on a particularly scenic portion of the Northern California coastline, Point Arena's Cypress Abbey Ranch is known for its dramatic coastal shelves and bluffs, spring-fed waterfalls. Few people realize that this scenic landscape also provides habitat for habitat for threatened and endangered species, including the mountain beaver, the red-legged frog, and Behren's Silverspot butterfly.
The Trust for Public Land purchased more than 100 acres of this sensitive landscape in January 2012. We're working hard to help the community meet its goal of protecting more than 3,700 acres of open space, including ten miles of coastline and vital connections between Point Arena, Stornetta Public Lands, Manchester State Park and the California Coastal National Monument—1,100 miles of small islands, rocks, exposed reefs, and pinnacles stretching between Mexico and Oregon.
