Alaska

Since 1988, The Trust for Public Land has protected more than 70,000 acres on the nation’s last frontier. Responding quickly to changes in federal regulation, TPL worked to convey old mining claim inholdings to Denali National Park and spare valuable wildlife habitat from subdivision and development. Other projects include expansion of Juneau's Brotherhood Park on the Mendenhall River and additions to Tongass National Forest, the largest in the country. TPL’s ongoing efforts in Alaska aim to conserve the state’s scenic open space for its unique recreational and ecosystem value.
