Ruffner Mountain

Just 10 minutes from downtown Birmingham, Ruffner Mountain is among the last undeveloped stretches of Alabama's Red Line Ridge. Since 1983, The Trust for Public Land has added nearly 1,000 acres to this urban retreat, which hosts popular environmental education programs for students and youth groups. TPL has also worked to expand public access to Hurricane Creek in Tuscaloosa and create community parks in Baldwin and Cullman counties.
