About the Fund
The State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)'s Barnegat Bay Environmental Grant Fund awards grants for activities that promote environmental education, planning, monitoring, research or land stewardship in the Barnegat Bay and its watershed, as outlined in the Barnegat Bay National Estuary Program's Comprehensive Management Plan (www.bbep.org).
TPL was selected to administer the $500,000 Barnegat Bay Environmental Grant Fund based upon our work in the Barnegat Bay region, and the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge. This grant is one component of TPL's Barnegat Bay Initiative-a long-term protection strategy for the Bay, including public education, scientific research, land planning, and acquisition of critical properties.
