San Francisco Bay Area Program

Since 1972, The Trust for Public Land has created, protected, or restored 130 special places throughout the nine Bay Area counties, totaling 130,000 acres.

From our work in the 1970's to protect community gardens in West Oakland, to the creation of Cowell Ranch State Park in suburban Contra Costa County, TPL conserves the places people care about, creating healthy, livable communities throughout the Bay Area.

TPL has helped create more than 40 places to play in the San Francisco Bay Area, represented here by blue and orange dots. Click on the orange dots to learn more about some of these parks.
