Report: Florida County Land Survey

This report on Florida's County Land Conservation Programs provides an overview of conservation efforts and suggestions for helping to ensure the success of such efforts in the future.

In selecting counties to survey, TPL chose the 25 counties that have a dedicated sources of funds for land conservation and ten additional counties, mostly within major metropolitan areas. The survey confirmed results from other national studies that have shown Florida is a leader in funding for conservation and recreation land acquisition, even while increasing population growth and development continue to degrade water quality, threaten open space, and degrade quality of life.

This report is designed to offer advice for success for counties contemplating creating their own conservation plans and includes detailed case studies on Jacksonville-Duval, Hillsborough, Flagler and Miami-Dade counties.
