This handbook serves as a guide for Minnesota landowners interested in preserving their land. Written in lay terms, Land Protection Options: A Handbook for Minnesota Landowners explains complex topics such as easements, deed restrictions, mutual covenants, and tax matters. This guide provides landowners with the tools needed to protect their land, including a list of available partners and useful programs. It is also filled with enlightening case histories, charts, and tables. Written and designed by Laurie Allmann, the guide was originally published in 1996 by The Trust for Public Land, The Nature Conservancy, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and the Minnesota Land Trust (revised, 2000).
