Recently, a defunct auto repair building gave way to the wrecking ball in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood—another step toward the envisioned Bloomingdale Trail. The transformation of an underused stretch of elevated rail line into a three-mile linear park and trail will require the creation of access parks, one of them at the now-cleared lot at Milwaukee Avenue and Leavitt Street. Single advances, like the demolition of the building at Milwaukee, mark significant points of progress for the Bloomingdale Trail.
