Westerly Creek: From Vacant Lot to Community Park

Adult refugees living in an affordable housing complex opposite a vacant lot near Westerly Creek wanted to grow food for their families, and in 2005 they got help. Denver Urban Gardens (DUG) partnered with the housing complex and the City of Denver to clear a corner and build a community garden. TPL is now collaborating with the Denver Parks and Recreation Department to convert the entire space into a new community park.
