Robert B. (Bob) O'Brien, Jr.

Mr. O'Brien is a graduate of Pingry School and Lehigh University and had a thirty-five-year career in banking with the Bankers Trust Company, Bowery Savings Bank, First Federal Savings, and for eighteen years Chair of Carteret Savings Bank. During the first Nixon Presidential term he served as Director and Head of the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation. For twenty-five years he was Chairman of Neighborhood Housing Services of America, the leading nonprofit housing corporation in the U.S.A., allowing first-time home buyers to realize the American dream of home ownership. Since retiring from the banking business he has been President of Wooden Boats NJ, a yacht brokerage corporation specializing in older classic yachts. In addition, he is President of the NJ Museum of Boating, the Bay Head School Foundation, and a Member of the Ocean Medical Foundation. He is a Trustee of the Charles E. Thenen Foundation, the Toms River Seaport Society, on the Advisory Council of The Trust for Public Land, and a Member of the Bay Head Volunteer Fire Company #1. He also is a member of the NJ Supreme Court Attorney Ethics Committee for District 3 - Ocean County.
