But in recent years, water agencies and communities have been revisiting the old idea that maintaining healthy watersheds can be a cost-effective way to safeguard drinking water while also protecting wildlife habitat and creating opportunities for recreation. The health of our land and the health of our water are inextricably intertwined.
By sharing groundbreaking research and in-depth case studies, The Trust for Public Land is helping conservation leaders make the case for watershed protection. TPL applies watershed knowledge to develop locally appropriate strategies for protecting land near rivers, lakes, streams, and coastlines.
