The Trust for Public Land submitted applications on behalf of several private landowners to the State of Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to permanently protect nearly 1,000 acres of forestland on Skiff Mountain. The applications were directed to the U.S.
Six properties on Skiff Mountain in northwest Connecticut will be permanently protected from development, The Trust for Public Land announced today. Combined, the properties total 705 acres and all are now protected from future development through conservation easements funded by the U.S.
Working from more than 30 offices nationwide, The Trust for Public Land helps communities raise funds, conduct research and planning, acquire and protect land, and design and renovate parks, playgrounds, trails, and gardens.
