Wilmington Park Value Report Cover

This new research study by TPL's Center for City Park Excellence explores the economic value of the parks and park programs of the city of Wilmington, Delaware.

Enumerating the economic value of the city's park system for seven different factors — clean air, clean water, tourism, direct use, health, property value, and community cohesion — the Center found that in 2008 the parks provided Wilmington's residents with savings of $47.2 million and a collective increase of wealth of $11 million. In addition, parks and recreation provided the city's government with revenue of $1.36 million and municipal savings of $448,000.

Commissioned by the Delaware Center for Horticulture and several other city, state and private agencies, you can download the full reprt below. The underlying calculations are included in a separate PDF document.
