Integrating the full set of services The Trust for Public Land offers, the Maine CommunityScape Initiative is working to break down barriers that have traditionally kept neighboring towns and cities from working together to protect and enhance the state's "quality of place." This program begins with our highly collaborative and effective Greenprinting process, which helps communities identify regional conservation needs and priorities. We then assist communities with next steps, including expanding local land-protection funding capacity, and providing real estate expertise when it is needed to protect signature landscapes, or create new parks and trails in growing communities. The program has successfully attracted funding and demonstrated on the ground results in its 12-town pilot program in the Penobscot Valley.
