Anderson Ranch

Gallatin County and TPL achieved another conservation victory with the protection of the 1,760-acre Anderson Ranch. Numerous wildlife make their home on the land, including deer, coyote, mountain lions, and golden eagles. The property also contains a section of the East Gallatin River, considered to be a perennial or “class-one” stream that supports a healthy and important trout fishery. The popular Gallatin Forks Fishing Access Site is located just two miles to the west, where the East Gallatin River and West Gallatin River join together. Anderson Ranch marks the seventh success of the Gallatin County Open Space Program, which is funded by bond measures that TPL helped pass in 2000 and 2004 and has helped protect nearly 40 square miles of ranch and farmland.
