Georgia Tech Research Institute and an Atlanta nonprofit group studied specific impacts of Redfields to Greenfields, a $5 billion program in Atlanta and followed this effort up with studies in 5 more cities (Denver, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Miami, and Wilmington), presenting the findings in June, 2011.
The partners are sharing the results of the study in a comprehensive website that offers anyone interested in city parks resources ranging from short, user-friendly videos to charts, graphs and multi media recordings of each city’s presentations. In Colorado, our partnership with Denver Parks and Recreation is being showcased as an example of the potential of transforming 'Redfields to Greenfields'. Along the South Platte river, where The Trust for Public Land has long worked to save green spaces and reclaim old industrial sites as parkland, plans are presented for a complete green corridor of parks and trails.
Watch a little - including TPL-Colorado’s Tim Wohlgenant, read a lot. This site has depth and breadth that can keep city park advocates engaged for hours.
