Easement to protect Glen for good

Hugh Taylor Birch insisted on it in 1927 when he deeded the land to Antioch College in his daughter’s memory. Saving forests around Blossom Music Center from development

Springfield Bog Metro Park offers floral display

Springfield Bog Metro Park is blooming with color. Springfield Bog features 108 acres of wetlands, including a 12-acre kettle bog, 5-acre bog and a now overgrown 91-acre wetland. The 256-acre park was created with help from the Trust for Public Land, a national land conservation agency. read more »

New bogs fragile but also accessible

It's hard to traverse wetlands where the ground squishes and slops and the muck and mire try to suck off shoes. Such wetlands are filled with unusual and fragile plants that unknowing visitors can destroy. Those were among the dilemmas Metro Parks, Serving Summit County faced as it began developing its new Springfield Bog Metro Park. read more »
