Almost 400 acres of land have been purchased and added to Green River Reservoir State Park in northern Vermont, expanding outdoor recreation opportunities and protecting valuable wildlife habitat, The Trust for Public Land and the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation announced today.

On the last day of 2012, Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. (ABI) purchased a critical property from The Trust for Public Land that will connect the recently opened Eastside Trail with Historic Fourth Ward Park. Funding for the acquisition came from private donations to the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership Capital Campaign. This “Gateway” connection, when completed, will for the first time link this new park to the rest of the Atlanta BeltLine, which connects to Piedmont Park and the Freedom Park Trail leading to the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library complex.

The Trust for Public Land, working with a broad coalition of environmental organizations, concerned citizens, and more than 1,000 donors, announced today it has completed a transaction to purchase oil and gas leases on 58,000 acres of sensitive land in Wyoming's Hoback Basin. The acquisition means that affected land inside the Bridger-Teton National Forest near Grand Teton National Park will be forever saved from oil and gas drilling and preserved for hunting, fishing, and recreation.

The Trust for Public Land and Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks today announced they bought a conservation easement on 28,000 acres of timber owned by Stimson Lumber Company in the Lower Kootenai River valley, which means the land will be permanently protected for recreation and will also continue to support local timber jobs.
