Since 2003, Laura has served as president and CEO of The University of Montana Foundation in Missoula, Montana. She oversees all fundraising, gift administration, investments and management of private funds for The University of Montana. Before joining the UM Foundation, she spent three years as the vice president and national director of development for the Trust for Public Land in San Francisco, California. Prior to her service at TPL, she spent 15 years in a number of senior positions at the University of California, Berkeley, her alma mater. In her last five years at Berkeley she was the assistant dean for development and alumni relations at the Haas School of Business. When she left Berkeley in 2000, the Chancellor awarded her the Berkeley Citation, Berkeley's highest honor for distinguished and notable service. Since moving to Montana, she has been an active supporter of the Five Valleys Land Trust and served on their Board of Directors from 2008-2011. Laura and her husband Larry are committed to Montana. They hike often in the Rattlesnake Wilderness recreation area just minutes from their home and Laura takes every opportunity to fly fish on one of the "rivers that run through it". Laura and Larry are glad to live in a community that embraces the culture of respecting and caring for the land.
