Happy Haynes

Happy Haynes has been an Assistant to the Superintendent for Community Partnerships since October 2005 and oversees the district's initiatives on parent involvement, school partnerships, school culture and climate, mentoring and volunteer programs. She previously spent 26 years in local city government serving two mayors in various capacities and serving for 13 years on the Denver City Council. She received undergraduate training in elementary education and has been active in citizen-based school reform efforts in Denver for over twenty years. She was a founding member of the Foundation for Educational Excellence and the Mile High Youth Corps among other youth and education based community initiatives.
