Voted Best New Artist of 2011, Esperanza Spalding made a splash at last year's Grammy Awards, and now she's making waves for land conservation.
The jazz artist is offering her unreleased song "Life of a Ripple" for purchase via the Patagonia Music Collective, which will direct net proceeds from each download to TPL in Esperanza's name.
Launched this summer by the environmentally minded apparel company, the Patagonia Music Collective brings together musicians, fans and grassroots groups to fund environmental causes. TPL has Spalding to thank for bringing together TPL and the collective. Of all the groups the artist could have selected to benefit from her work, she chose The Trust for Public Land.
