Sowing seeds of community – at P.S. 164 in Brooklyn

At P.S. 164 in  Brooklyn, NY, students are growing more than flowers and vegetables. The "Green Team" tends a thriving garden that also serves as a community gathering place—a precious resource in a crowded city. 

In the short film above, educator Taura McMeekin explains how the fertile ground of the Green Yard is creating new opportunities for hands-on learning—and bringing friends and neighbors together.
