Elizabeth (Liz) Hawn is a community volunteer, having been a member of a variety of non-profit and local government boards serving children and the elderly. A long time volunteer tutor in the Minneapolis Public Schools, she is presently performing the same function at the Minnesota Workhouse. She started her professional life in New York City as an Assistant District Attorney, and after retiring from the law, she chaired the Ripley and Stevens Square Foundation Boards and the Orono Planning Commission for many years. She earned her B.A. at Bryn Mawr College and her J.D. at the University of Virginia Law School. A committed, but amateur, gardener and hiker, Liz likes to spend as much of her time outdoors as possible.
