Coastal Lands

The Trust for Public Land is working to enhance public access along California's remarkable coastal lands and conserve its natural and scenic resources. Visitors and locals flock to the stunning coastal bluffs and seaside ranches that give Northern California its unique ocean ruggedness. The Trust for Public Land is partnering with state and federal agencies to acquire large ranches along the coast that are at risk of subdivision and residential development to enusure the protection of critical wildlife habitat, expansion of public access, and preservation of traditional ranching in the region. A recent example of our work protecting coastal lands is the Cypress Abbey Ranch in Point Arena.
