Charles G. "Chuck" Cannon is a private investor, philanthropist and Chair of the Gates Family Foundation, which was formed out of the assets of Gates Rubber Company when it was sold to Tompkins PLC in the late 1990s. He also is trust manager of Bear Creek, Inc., which holds the remaining assets of Gates Rubber still controlled by members of the Gates Family and their associates. The Gates Rubber Company headquarters happens to be in the same building complex as the temporary headquarters of DaVita Incorporated.
Chuck has been on the boards of Colorado Academy, a private school in the Denver area, and Colorado Outward Bound, among other community pursuits. The Colorado Advisory Council has nominated him for membership, and his confirmation is pending his acceptance.
Chuck and his wife Kathleen ("Kathy") have resided in Evergreen, Colorado, in the foothills of Denver for many years.
