Alexander K. Buck, Jr.
Alexander K. Buck, Jr. (Sandy) graduated from Colby College (BA, American Studies) and Stanford University (MA, Education) and is currently President of Horizon Foundation, Inc. of Portland, Maine. Buck and his family moved to Maine from Topsfield, Massachusetts, where he served as founding Chair of the Essex County Community Foundation board. He has served as chair of Kieve Affective Education, and as trustee of Mass Audubon, Pingree School and Shore Country Day School. In June 2011, Buck completed a two year term as Chair of Maine Audubon's board of trustees and served for two years as Chair of the Environmental Funders Network in Portland. Prior to starting Horizon, Buck taught history and held various administrative positions in several Massachusetts independent schools: Shore, Applewild and Pingree. He and his wife, Sissy, have two children, Sarah and Alex, and a grandson, Angus.
