Shepard Harris

Shepard “Shep” Harris, is Vice President of Investments at UBS Financial Services, based in their San Francisco office. Since 1977 Shep has also been active in real estate and development on Mount Desert Island, Maine. There, on the island that is home to the lion’s share of Acadia National Park, he has planned and managed environmentally-oriented development for the thriving local community, including two large forestry projects, numerous land exchanges and sales transactions with Acadia National Park and Maine Coast Heritage Trust. His commitment to smart development and long-standing belief in the importance of keeping nature close to home makes him a perfect fit for The Trust for Public Land.

Shep enjoys his work as a community service volunteer. His past volunteer positions include Founding Vice President for Bangor Land Trust, President of Teton Valley Education Foundation and Chair for Penjajawoc Marsh Bangor Mall Management Commission.

He graduated from Philadelphia College of Art (now University of the Arts) with a BFA in crafts in 1983. Shep lives in San Francisco with his wife Melissa and frequently travels across the world to explore other cultures and landscapes, and to visit their three children, Brooke, Bay and Parker.
