With 25 years of experience in the non-profit arena, including twenty years in philanthropy, Margie joined TPL in January 2010 as the Chief Development Officer. Prior to joining TPL , she was Associate Director of Development for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles where she was responsible for planning a $350M+ campaign for the Heart Institute. Before moving to healthcare, she was the Director of Philanthropy for the Asia-Pacific Region of The Nature Conservancy. Living in Hong Kong, she worked with TNC programs in eight countries. During her time at TNC, Margie also served as the Deputy Director of Development for TNC California. She also worked with the National Audubon Society where she held the positions of Vice President - Western Region and Director of Development for Audubon California. While at Audubon, she did volunteer work with Alaska Department Fish & Game's population monitoring study of marbeled murrelets in the Tongass National Forest. Margie was at UCLA for ten years serving as the Director of Development for the Humanities in the College of Letters and Science and Director of the College Annual Fund. She received both her BA in Linguistics/Psychology and MSW in community planning from UCLA.
