Brenda Schick

Vice President and Director of Conservation Transactions

Brenda joined TPL as a project manager in 2001 doing conservation real estate work in Oregon and Idaho. Some of her favorite projects included protection of a 12,000 acre working ranch in Eastern Oregon and protection of working forests in Northern Idaho. In 2005 she became the Director of Project Review and in 2010 she was appointed to her current position as Vice President and Director of Conservation Transactions. In this role, Brenda provides leadership and support to project managers across the country. Brenda has a significant role in TPL's risk management. In fiscal year 2008 she reviewed approximately 200 real estate projects which resulted in the conservation of 312,000 acres valued at approximately $790 million. Brenda also participates in the creation of TPL's operating budget and manages the Conservation Transactions Department.

Brenda's prior professional experience includes management and management training at Starbucks Coffee Company, complex environmental mediation consulting, and work for The Nature Conservancy as the Director of Protection for their Oregon Program. She has a B.A from Lewis and Clark College and a J.D. from the University of Oregon.
