Brady Walkinshaw is a Program Officer in the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Global Development Program. He manages the foundation’s agricultural work in Brazil, along with a portfolio of investments in agricultural capacity in sub-Saharan Africa. Brady previously spent time at the World Bank in Washington, D.C., and in Tegucigalpa, Honduras as a Fulbright Scholar. In Honduras, he founded Proyecto Villa Nueva, a small not-for-profit focused on education and youth development in urban slums. The organization was recognized by UNESCO in 2011 as an Organization for Peace.
Brady is a graduate of Princeton University where he studied in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. He is a former trustee of Princeton University, and is active on local boards and advisory groups, including Seattle’s Intiman Theatre, The Trust for Public Land, the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund, and Proyecto Villa Nueva. Brady lives in Seattle with his partner, Micah Horwith, and is a sixth-generation Pacific Northwest native. He enjoys fly-fishing, kayaking and is an avid hiker.
