Mitch Menzer, Los Angeles, CA, is a member of O'Melveny & Meyers LLP Project Development Practice Group, and has represented institutional borrowers and lenders in complex real estate financings, including revolving loans to REITs, construction loans and permanent financings. In recent years, he has represented purchasers and sellers in sales of non- and sub-performing mortgage loans. Mitch has also represented institutional sellers of mortgage loans, with an aggregate book value of over $2 billion. Mitch is active in the formation of joint ventures to develop real property. In addition, Mitch is a member of the firm's Environmental Law Practice Group and advises owners of real property as well as lenders and tenants on their responsibilities and liabilities for real property contaminated with hazardous materials. In addition, he has structured purchase and sale transactions to allocate responsibility for cleanup and long-term environmental liabilities. Mitch graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, J.D. in 1984 and Amherst College, B.A., in 1978: magna cum laude. Mitch is a member of several organizations including Commercial Development, Real Estate Financing, and Land Use Planning Subsections, Los Angeles County Bar Association; Environmental Law Section, State Bar of California; UCLA Real Estate Finance and Investment Conference Planning Committee; and the Urban Land Institute. He also has experience as a lecturer of various topics including limited liability companies, leasing, financing and environmental law for Government Institutes, the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the California State Bar.
