Melissa ("Liss" or "Lissie") Rappaport Schifman is a Principal with Sustology, a sustainability advisory firm in Minneapolis.  Ms. Schifman has ten years of corporate experience in financial planning and analysis and business development, and has significant experience advising businesses and individuals on sustainability.  Prior to her sustainability focus, she was Vice President of Business Development for Capella Education Company, an online university for working adults.  Her financial acumen stems from her six years in the airline industry, where she held various management positions in Finance and Revenue Management.

Ms. Schifman recently became the Twin Cities' fifth LEED for Homes Accredited Professional and completed the work necessary to get her own home LEED Gold Certified.  Ms. Schifman is also the founder of Green Intention LLC, where she writes, consults, and blogs about sustainable, green and healthy homes. Ms. Schifman is the founder and chair of her congregation's Task Force for Sustainability, and has served on its Board of Directors as well as its Strategic Planning Task Force. Prior to graduate school, she worked as a legislative aide on Capitol Hill, responsible for all matters related to defense, energy, and environmental policy.

Ms. Schifman graduated cum laude from Georgetown University and received her M.B.A. and M.A. in public policy from the University of Chicago, graduating with honors. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband and their two daughters.
