Philanthropy Intern
Location: Montpelier
Summary
The Philanthropy Intern, working under the direction of the State Director of Philanthropy and the Director of Institutional Giving, will identify, research and qualify prospective donors, including individuals and private foundations
Essential Function
- Using research tools (databases, internet, annual reports, institutional references), identify potential prospects for our mission.
- Working with the State Director of Philanthropy and the Director of Institutional Giving, analyze the giving history and capacity of potential donors
- Working with the Director of Institutional Giving, provide assistance writing grant reports.
- When appropriate and with guidance, make initial discovery calls to new prospects and/or lapsed donors.
Qualifications
- College level course work in the humanities, conservation, public policy and/or marketing
- Strong academic and research skills
- Experience performing internet and database research
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Team orientated
- Experience working in a philanthropy role a plus
