Emanuel (Manny) is the managing partner of Tall Pines Capital, LLC. Manny oversees diverse development projects throughout the New York/New Jersey area and manages one of the largest privately held commercial real estate portfolios in the country. Totaling 38 million sq. ft., The Hartz portfolio includes over 200 office, industrial, hotel, retail and residential properties. The NYU Business School is named after his father, Leonard, for his great philanthropy to the institution.
Manny was a major catalyst in the renaissance of the Jersey City Waterfront. In downtown Manhattan he built and owns the Soho Grand and Tribeca Grand Hotels. He has embarked on cutting edge redevelopment projects including the former Ford Motor Company Plant in Edison, NJ, a model for converting aging industrial facilities to higher and better uses. Most recently Manny has guided the company expansion into the multi-family residential market, owning some 1,850 units with an additional 2,000 units in the development pipeline, as well as embarking in the solar energy field where the company has developed 17 installations, generating approximately 20 megawatts of energy. In 2012, the Solar Energy Industry Association ranked Hartz #19 in the listing of the Top 20 U.S. Companies by Solar Capacity.
